To the stores, artisans, food vendors, patrons, guardians, celebrants and dogs. In order to keep everyone safe and dry, and to help the helpers clean up downtown unencumbered, we are canceling the October 12th 2nd Sunday on King Street event.

See you next month, November 9.

“Thunderstorms were expected to move 25 mph Southeast across Beaufort, Berkeley, Effingham, Jasper, Colleton and Charleston counties, according to a special weather statement from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Charleston. Experts warned of wind gusts of up to 55 mph that could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Impacts could include damage to roofs, siding and trees, according to the weather statement. “Continuous” cloud-to-ground-lightning is also occurring, according to NWS. People should “seek selter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows,” the NWS warned. “Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are clsoe enough to be struck by lightning.”
